Philly Auto Show

The Philly Auto Show opened their doors in 1902, and the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia has been putting the show together since 1997. It is a show for the consumer to inspect, sit in, and pop the hood, without the manufactures trying to sell the cars to the consumer.

I laid out the Philly Auto Show site to create a sense of openness. I kept the colors dark with the purpose of showing off the beautiful photography while tying into the Black Tie event’s elegant look. I integrated the accent colors to give it a fresh and edgy look. The full screen background was our focus for showcasing the cars, bringing the cars closer to the end user. I also wanted a way to tell the end user which car was coming up next without taking the attention away from the current car, which is why the left and right arrows show previews of the previous and next car. Finally, I needed to let people find more information to the black tie event, and what better way to do that than with their cute teddybear mascot “Clutch” waving to you on the home page.

The “Plan a Visit” section was designed with ease of use in mind. I kept the color of the map somewhat subtle and enhanced the icon to help users find the amenities quicker.
